What is radiant floor heating?

It is an under floor heat system which warms the floor of the room, dispersing heat gradually throughout the room.

When a room is heated with standard heating, the air is force dried, and most of your heat is at the ceiling, while all of the cold air is at the floor. With floor heat, the room stays at a constant, even temperature.

How does floor heat work?

Our systems use electrical resistance cable to create heat from under the flooring surface. A thermostat controls the temperature of the room.

Where can a floor heating systems be installed?

A floor heating system can be used in almost any application: bathrooms, kitchens, children's play rooms, garages, and more.

Is it safe to install radiant floor heat myself?

Most homeowners install QuickMat or NetMat themselves, since the mat is self-adhesive and no specialty tools are required. TepidusWire (loose cable) requires a bit more care laying it out by hand, but is still a DIY-friendly project. Whichever product you choose, the final electrical connection to your thermostat should always be made or checked by a licensed electrician, and the system is protected by GFCI just like any other electrical circuit in a bathroom or kitchen.

Do I need a professional to design the layout?
